Basílica de la Sagrada Familia is truly one of my favorite sights here in Barcelona. I’ve been there four times already and it still never ceases to take my breath away.
I remember the first time I saw the Sagarada Familia…. from the outside I was completely blown away. I couldn’t stop looking, it was just so beautiful. There were so many intricacies, I just stood there staring and staring…
It is truly a masterpiece, like nothing I have ever seen before. And still, it’s not even finished….
The outside is so beautiful and breathtaking you don’t think it can be any more beautiful… and then you step inside… and WOW
From the high ceilings to the colorful windows it’s just simply magical. As you walk through the inside of the basilica you here soft music playing through discreet speakers, it makes you feel as if you’ve been transported to this out of world place. The ceilings go up and up and up seemingly reaching up towards the sky.
Then there’s the windows, stained glass in every color you can imagine. When Antonio Gaudí designed Sagrada familia, he designed it right. The way the light flows through the glass, and the colors it brings with it.. it leaves you speechless (well atleast for me it did).
Honestly, for me Sagrada Familia is a the top of my list of things to do and see in Barcelona. It’s like nothing else you’ve ever seen before, and the feeling it leaves you with… that’s a memory that will stay with you forever.

I missed this when I went to Barcelona as they were still doing regenerative work on it.
Your photos capture it really well – the different colored glass inside is really beautiful!

it’s still not finished (that’s the craziest part about sagrada familia), so if you ever get the chance to come back to Barcelona you should totally visit it (it might even be different from what it is now)

The cathedral is incredible (and I love the free entrance) but for me I just love Sagrada Familia… I think because it’s so different from a typical church. But the history of the Cathedral of Barcelona, as well as how beautiful it is, truly is amazing also!

I loved the Sagrada Familia too. In fact, I loved everything about Barcelona. I wrote an article about it for an Indian daily: http://www.bangaloremirror.com/columns/sunday-read/Hola-Barcelona/articleshow/21354796.cms
