both me & this blog are a work in progress…

My name is Sam, I’m 24 years old and originally from America (such a weird thing to say). I grew up in New York and loved it, but I was ready for a change in my life. In May 2014 I graduated University with a dual degree in Political Science and Spanish. I had absolutely no clue what I wanted to do with my life, but had recently discovered a passion for traveling and exploring the world. So I decided before starting a career (that maybe I didn’t even like) I wanted to try and live and enjoy my life as much as possible.

In August 2014 I picked up, bought a one way ticket and moved to Barcelona to teach English for a year. I completely fell in love with the city of Barcelona .. so much so that I decided spending another year in Barcelona was necessary. So In November 2015 I started a masters degree here in Barcelona. Here I am two years later after moving to Barcelona, still trying to figure out what I want to do with my life and where I’m going…

In this blog I just hope to keep track of my adventures and experiences as honestly and openly as possible. I want this to be an extremely exciting and memorable time for me and will try and am going to try and live life to the fullest!

  1. I was in Barcelona last year and enjoyed my stay. Normally I spend time in Galicia (NW Spain) where I have a flat. But the weather is no so good as on the Mediterranean coast! Regards, Ray

  3. I really hear you. I am in a similar situation right now. I finished my studies last year and have been travelling since a little more than two months. And it was such a wonderful experience. I just don’t really know what to do now. I think, it is time for me to go home and get a job. But who knows, I hope to be back on the road soon again 🙂 travelling is just the most rewarding thing to do. So many different people, cultures and adventures…it’s hard to stay home, not seeing what happens and waits for you all over the world 😉

I hope you will make some exciting and memorable experiences on your journey. Love to hear more.

    Cheers
    Dennis

  6. Lovely blog Sam! I feel like I am just one step behind you in terms of moving abroad (just have to graduate first – ha!) and your blog is very inspirational. How did you get the opportunity to teach English abroad? Is it through some sort of agency or program?

  10. Hi, Sam – It seems like we have a lot in common. I have been living in Costa Rica for 6 months, the plan was to return after a year but I’m having trouble seeing myself back in the States!

I’m looking forward to see where your path takes you!

    Take care and happy travels!

  12. We moved from Boston to Barcelona for what was supposed to be a 2 year work assignment. 4 1/2 years later we had to relocate to Amsterdam. Now we are on a mission to find our way back to Barcelona. She has a way of capturing your heart! Enjoy!
