what this blog means to me

what blogging means to me…

So today I was just thinking about my blog and decided that I wanted to write what this blog really means to me... the whole reason I started this blog was just as a way to write about everything I’ve been experiencing and share this journey of living abroad and getting to know myself. Never did I ever imagine people would actually read and enjoy it.  I’ve had this blog for only three months now, but already I feel like maybe, just maybe, people are able to connect with my words and thoughts …

My blog is an extension of myself. It allows me to express myself in a way I wouldn’t otherwise be able to do, and the support of other bloggers, and everyone who reads my blog , is totally incredible. When I first started this blog, I didn’t know if it was something that I would continue with or stick with… I didn’t know if there was a point… Did people really care what I have to say? But the more I started to post, the more I started to reflect on my journey and want more and more to grow as a person and to share this experience. I love being able to write honestly about everything going on during this journey, the good and the bad, without being judged… in fact I feel supported.

Over the past month, I’ve began to fall even more in love with writing, and I’ve just truly enjoyed posting on this blog and connecting with some of the people who read this blog. What I love most about this blog is that I just write, openly and honestly (sometimes without thinking and it comes out like word vomit…) yet people seem to still enjoy it! So I just wanted to say THANK YOU to all the people who read this blog, and encourage me on this journey… you’re keeping me motivated and honest and inspired.

I hope that maybe someone, somewhere reading this blog might be inspired to take the leap and move abroad and chase their dreams as I did. It’s been hard, but it’s also been great and it’s honestly the best thing I’ve done in my life… and I hope if anyone is questioning that in their lives and reads this blog will think about it and give it a shot.

I still have so much to write about, both past and future experiences and plans. But just for now I wanted to delve into a little bit of what this blog exactly means to me, and hopefully share with you a little bit more about myself. (I plan on writing a blog post in the upcoming week with a full and complete introduction to myself, more than the brief ones so far… so if there’s anything you want to know about me please reach out! )

Its funny that today of all days I had similar thoughts along the lines of Confessions of a Wanderer. I too was planning on expounding on reasons why I decided to start blogging – because as it stands , I have started and I actually enjoy it. I enjoy recalling the memories and putting them down in black and white. Thank you Confessions of a Wanderer for such a fabulous blog…it is a true expression of how I feel.

  4. Really enjoyed reading your blog! I created my blog as my midterm competition submission for my social media class, but after a few post I’ve falling in love with the idea of sharing my experiences with other travelers and reliving the memories. It’s also such a great feeling to know that other’s value your experiences and are inspired by them! Thanks for writing this post, it really helped me get pumped about my own blogging!
